Man dies after Dublin assault

A man has died after an assault in Ballyfermot, Co Dublin.

Gardaí were called to an incident in O’Casey Avenue, Parkwest, Ballyfermot at about 4am, where they found a badly injured man.

He was taken by ambulance to Tallaght Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The man was in his 20s.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.

The State Pathologist’s office has been notified.
