A big clean-up operation is continuing in many flood-hit areas of the country.
Local authority officials and port authorities have been assessing damage in several coastal regions.
Among the worst hit areas were counties Cork, Clare, Galway, Kerry Limerick and Mayo.
The estimated cost of the damage is expected to run into millions of euro.
Met Éireann has issued another warning, this time about snow and ice throughout the country.
The warning was issued at 3am this morning and will remain in force until 2pm this afternoon.
Sub-zero temperatures are forecast tonight.
Minimal new disruption reported
There has been minimal disruption reported this morning in Cork and Galway despite tidal flood alerts for the cities.
Gardaí in Cork have said that while parts of Morrison’s Island, Union Quay and Georges Quay are partially flooded, all areas of the city are passable.
Gardaí in Galway have said the city has been unaffected by flooding so far this morning.
Parts of Salthill remain partially flooded.
