Dan Ram explains more about this global event for nurses.

What is this event?

This is more than just music – it’s about a mission. The COVID-19 pandemic may have forced everyone to stay at home, but it hasn’t stopped acts of kindness nor silenced messages of hope. Here is a community-lead effort to have a global impact and you can get involved too!

When and where is it on?

On May 12, 2020 (International Nurses Day), The “Daily Show with DanRam” are gathering musicians from across the globe to put on a Virtual Benefit Concert for nurses on the frontline of our pandemic. It’s a one time historic event that could make a lifetime difference for those nurses.

How many years has it been going?

First time!

What was the inspiration to start it?

DanRam (reputed technology conference MC with company headquartered in Dublin, Ireland) has been in lockdown in India because of the pandemic. Right from his bedroom he has been live streaming every single day the “Daily Show with DanRam” by interviewing billionaire investors, Grammy winning artists, Emmy winning producers, startup and wellness coaches, and so many more to share positive thinking and practical tips to live life well even in uncertainty.

As a final hurrah to the show, DanRam and his team are hosting a Virtual Benefit Concert to “bless the socks off of nurses”. It’s all voluntary and it’s about the community coming together to show their appreciation for nurses.

What exciting things can people look forward to?

14 musicians from across the globe are uniting for the International Nurses Day Benefit Concert. 3x Grammy winner Kevin Olusola, classically trained South Korean violinist Danny Koo, American teen singer-songwriters Sam Chetkin and Alexa Cabral, and 40 member award winning Coimbatore Chamber Chorale from India are just some of the talented musicians coming together for this special concert. Ireland’s own Andrew Ascough and Nono Madolo are just 2 of the artists contributing to this event.

How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?

Visit givebutter.com/BenefitConcert and get a ticket (free) which will give you the link to stream the concert. 100% donations will go towards various Nurses Associations to help them buy essential protective supplies (masks, gloves and medical equipment) for working nurses in hospitals.

Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?

Join for the music but more importantly – get involved in the mission!
